About Me

I am a multidisciplinary artist working with performance art, painting, mixed media, video art, installation, writing, music, storytelling, poetry, and photography. I have a bachelor’s degree in fine art from the National Art School, Sydney, Australia, a bachelor’s degree in mass media and mass communication from IP College, Delhi University, and a DELF B1 Diploma in French. I have held solo and group exhibitions as well as individual and collaborative performances in India and Australia, sold over 85 paintings around the world, with my work held in public and private collections in India, Australia, UK, USA, France, and Dubai.

At the core of my art lies the expression of my extraordinary, though not unique, life experience as an artist, woman, and survivor. I cannot box my work into any particular medium, rather, each exhibition, performance, or body of work is a creative amalgamation of many mediums, forms, ideas, stories, and layers. Through my art, I hope to hold hands with everybody who is broken or struggling, and in that, for all of us to feel less alone. I wish to connect with other artists, women, human beings, and survivors, through the spoken, and especially, the unspoken.

From standing inside what used to be a prison cell in Australia and narrating stories of women who felt trapped inside a box, to telling stories of courage and survival from my own life, from embroidering thread over a photograph of my own lips to express living in silence, to sticking darts and flowers into a self-portrait, my artistic journey has led me to become bolder and more courageous with each successive artwork. Through my work, I wish to stand up for myself, to stop shrinking, and to hopefully be an inspiration for younger generations that it is really OK to occupy your space in the world, to have a voice, and to lead the life you envision for yourself. I find myself constantly working towards creating a life that is increasingly more purposeful and meaningful, and aim to lead a life that is a work of art in itself.
