Arushi Nayar
Finding and Honing
Your Artistic Voice
This is a six-session online course that I have designed for artists, aspiring artists, and creative professionals working with any medium, be it painting, sculpture, filmmaking, music, writing, performance, and more.
I have had a long and incredible journey spanning two countries, many cities, and even a farm, where I have worked in the fields of advertising, writing, filmmaking, painting, video art, installation, performance art, sculpture, and more, before finding my own voice as a full time, professional, artist; what I am here to say; and how I would like to say it.
Through this journey, I gained much experience about finding ourselves; about shedding layers of who we are not, in order to become who we are; and doing work that is aligned to our core values, strengths, and talents. I created this course with the above knowledge, to guide others on their respective journeys.
FAQs
What does the course entail?
Each of the six sessions will have a new topic, explored through theoretical approaches as well as guided practical and self-reflexive exercises, in a safe, encouraging, and non-judgemental environment, with a small cohort.
How will this course help me?
The aim of this course is to help participants find greater clarity, confidence, and a sense of direction in their art practices. Within a peer group, one will also find a great sense of community and support.
I dabble in many artistic mediums. Is this course right for me?
Absolutely! If you dabble in many artistic mediums, chances are, there is an even greater urgency to find your own unique artistic voice and calling. This course can help guide you in the right direction and become the start of a journey that will stay with you for a lifetime.
Is the course suitable for beginners?
Beginners are welcome, but I do recommend having a basic knowledge of at least one artistic medium - even if it is just doodling, in order to be able to respond to the prompts given in the course in a meaningful way.
What materials do I need?
An A3 size sketchbook, some pens and pencils (coloured would be great too!), access to your mediums of choice, and a lot of enthusiasm and curiosity for learning!
